What is B Corp certification?
B Corp certification is issued by B Lab to companies that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. It is not an award, but the beginning of a journey of continuous improvement. The assessment is carried out with the B Impact Assessment (BIA), a tool that analyzes and measures a company’s overall impact in several key areas.
Based on the B Impact Assessment, we achieved a total score of 86.2. Typically, the average score for companies completing the assessment is currently 50.9.
To date, over 9,000 companies worldwide have obtained B Corp certification, creating a global network of businesses that use business as a force for good.
Why sustainability is central to Vitesy
For us, sustainability is not just a slogan: it is a core value of our mission, processes, and daily decisions. B Corp certification helps us objectively measure our impact and set concrete goals to improve over time—an additional step in our sustainability journey.
Every strategic and operational decision we make takes environmental and social impact into account:
- Products with no filters to replace: we chose to eliminate the need for filter or battery replacements that would generate extra waste, thus reducing environmental impact and costs for our clients.
- Partner selection: we collaborate with companies and suppliers who share our principles of sustainability and responsibility.
- Reducing food waste: thanks to Shelfy, our innovative device, we help families and businesses preserve food better, cutting waste and emissions linked to food production and disposal.
According to the FAO, about 1/3 of all food produced globally is wasted every year: a challenge we want to help address with concrete and accessible solutions.
Our journey towards B Corp certification
Becoming a B Corp was not an instant achievement, but the result of a long and demanding journey. It took about three years of constant work to map out areas for improvement, define the necessary actions, and implement initiatives that enabled us to reach this goal.
We started by mapping our company processes and creating an Integrated Management System for environment and quality (ISO 14001 and ISO 9001). This was a crucial step to structure our commitment towards sustainability.
Earlier this year, we took a decisive step: drafting our Code of Ethics and amending our corporate bylaws, allowing us to become a benefit corporation. This change was not merely formal: it concretely launched our B Corp certification journey and, shortly after, led to official recognition.
Achieving certification meant systematizing practices and policies across several fronts: governance, worker relations, environmental management, client impact, and community contribution.
The 5 impact areas we focus on
- Governance — integrating stakeholders and responsibilities into decisions.
- Workers — conditions, growth, and team well-being.
- Clients — products that generate real value.
- Community — local initiatives and collaborations.
- Environment — reduction of impact and regenerative choices.
It was a collective and cross-functional effort involving not only Vitesy’s internal teams but also external stakeholders, suppliers, partners, and clients, creating constructive dialog that allowed us to gather valuable feedback. This process gave us the opportunity to capture the current level of our impact and to clearly identify strengths—such as the innovation in our products and our circular design approach—as well as areas for improvement to work on in the future. In this way, we can continue to grow with method, transparency, and responsibility, maintaining an approach oriented towards continuous improvement and sustainable innovation.
What it means for our customers
Being a certified B Corp means offering our customers a tangible guarantee: every choice is measured, verified, and constantly improving. It's not just about providing sustainable products, but about embracing a business model that places sustainability at the heart of every process.
For those who choose Vitesy, this translates to a relationship based on trust and transparency, where each product tells a story of research, responsibility, and attention to social and environmental impact. It means being able to rely on innovative solutions designed to last, that do not create unnecessary waste and are born from ongoing dialog with partners who share the same vision for the future.
This way, our customers become part of a collective journey that goes beyond simply purchasing a device—it's about participating in a broader project: helping build a fairer, more inclusive, and regenerative economy, where every daily choice has the power to generate positive impact.
