What does Vitesy’s future look like?
A new step towards sustainability
Sustainability has always been one of Vitesy’s core values, so last year we shared the news that we began a journey to certify our efforts and transform our words into actions. From the beginning, our products were designed to be as green and less wasteful as possible. That’s why all the products are made with recycled materials, do not use glues and utilize a ceramic filter which is completely washable and reusable. By not throwing away hundreds of filters, thanks to our customers we saved 50.700 filters, which is 13.200kg of waste avoided!
Since the last update, we’ve made some progress we’re very proud and excited to share with you.
We are now ISO certified
Over the past period, we have devoted time and resources to analyzing our processes, with the goal of continuously improving our environmental impacts. We have closely examined our supply chain and external partners, seeking to adopt more sustainable and responsible practices. Thanks to the efforts of the entire team, we have obtained ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications!

ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are internationally recognized standards developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that set out criteria for Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
By obtaining these certifications, we want to make our words a reality and define our commitment to quality and environmental responsibility, while we keep working everyday to improve in all ways possible.
While ISO 9001 focuses more on enhancing customer satisfaction by concentrating on well-structured and defined systems to ensure that given standards (of product and services) are maintained and improved over time, ISO 14001 provides a framework that an organization can follow to establish and improve its environmental performance.
We compensate CO2 for each shipment
Another way we’ve planned to solidify our commitment to sustainability, is by partnering with Up2You to reduce our impact on the environment by offsetting our CO2 emissions. Up2You is an Italian greentech and B Corp certified startup that enables companies to reduce their environmental impact by offsetting and neutralizing their carbon footprint, then certifying their efforts on blockchain.
From the very beginning we’ve tried to do our part by planting trees for every product we’ve sold, but we’ve decided to take it a step further and compensate for our CO2 emissions. Every action has its impact in terms of CO2 emissions, from sending an email to charging our computer to traveling to our work place.
This collaboration is really important to us, because we believe that we need to take action now to protect our planet as much as we can. Thanks to the help of Up2You we’ve started by measuring our emissions to come up with a strategy to reduce and compensate for them by funding certified environmental protection projects that were created to capture CO2 emissions. But not only this, most of these projects also preserve the local biodiversity and promote the economic and social development of the areas they are located in.
Projects we’re supporting thanks to our partnership with UP2You
We have carefully chosen the projects which best align with our mission and values. Here’s an overview of them.
Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve Project: This is a forest protection project developed in Indonesia designed to protect Tanjung Puting National Park from the expansion of industrial areas. The project safeguards a wide variety of vegetation including mangroves, which allow the capture of 10 times more CO2 than a traditional tree!
FSCECP Hydroelectric Power Plant: This project incentivizes 100% renewable energy generation in Brazil. By using natural resources to generate power, the project implements a more sustainable culture and ensures the consumption of renewable energy throughout the whole country.
The Envira Amazonia Project: There’s no introduction needed for the Amazon rainforest. The saddest thing is that since 1980 the forest has shrunk by 20%. This project aims to protect the forest area by preventing fires and preserving the fragile ecosystem.
Kariba REDD+ Project: Supporting this project means contributing to the preservation of an area of Zimbabwe subject to deforestation for socio-economic or settlement reasons. This project includes a range of activities aimed at significantly improving the livelihoods of the inhabitants, starting with the way agriculture is practiced.

Here at Vitesy, continuous improvement is ingrained in everything we do. We already have numerous initiatives and exciting collaborations planned. Sustainability is a guiding principle in everything we do: we recognize the importance of preserving our planet for future generations, and we're dedicated to doing our part. Our commitment to sustainability isn't just a promise, it's a journey of perpetual growth and improvement.
