Of course! You are not required to connect Shelfy to the app to enjoy its benefits.
You can turn it on, turn it off, and change its mode directly using the physical button (you can find more details in the User Guide).

Even though Shelfy can work without the app, not connecting it means you won’t have access to advanced features such as:

• Monitoring of door openings and refrigerator temperature.
• Reminders for filter and refrigerator cleaning.
• Connection to voice assistants (Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant).
• Firmware updates to improve performance and fix possible bugs.

How do I turn Shelfy on, off, and change its mode?

• Turning on: Press the button once until the white LED starts flashing.
• Turning off: Hold the button for 3 seconds until the LED turns off.
• Changing mode: Quickly press the button to cycle through the three available modes in the following order:

1. Eco Mode
2. Crisper Mode
3. Performance Mode

Once you select your preferred mode, Shelfy will continue operating in that setting until you turn it off or switch modes. For more details, check our dedicated FAQ.

How can I tell which mode Shelfy is in?
If you use Shelfy without the app, you can identify the mode by observing the frequency of the white LED flashing.
Check our dedicated FAQ for more information.
However, without the app, you won’t have a direct indication of the active mode other than through this observation.

Why does Shelfy sometimes seem to be off?
Shelfy operates in purification cycles, so it is not always running. It alternates between active and inactive periods to optimize energy consumption and ensure effective air purification inside the refrigerator. If you open the fridge and see it inactive, that doesn’t mean it’s not working—it will automatically resume in the next purification cycle.

Thanks to its compactness, Shelfy can be placed anywhere in the refrigerator without taking up too much space, and it is easily moved as needed and as space is available in the refrigerator.

For a maximized effect, place Shelfy in the fruit and vegetable drawer using the Crisper mode. Instead, to act effectively on odors and circulating microbial load place on shelves in Eco mode or, when an extra boost is needed, in Performance mode.

It is recommended to use 1 Shelfy per 300 liters (internal volume of a standard size refrigerator). For large-capacity refrigerators (above 350 liters) 2 are recommended to achieve a better and faster odor elimination effect.

Shelfy eliminates odors and pollutants in the refrigerator in a safe and innovative way. Unlike ordinary odor absorbers, Shelfy uses mechanical ventilation to actively capture and eliminate odors.

It uses no ozone or UV light and is safe for food. Its advanced nanomaterial is approved by EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) for food contact and is classified as not harmful to the environment or health (not Persistent, Bioaccumulative and Toxic and not very Persistent very Bioaccumulative).

Shelfy operates through purification cycles.
This means that it is not always on, but alternates periods of activity and inactivity on an hourly basis.
No need to worry if the fan is off when you open the fridge, Shelfy is still doing its job!

This mode helps conserve battery power without compromising Shelfy’s effectiveness. So, if you don’t notice an immediate change in its operation, don’t worry: everything will adjust during the next purification cycle.

Baking soda removes odors, but Shelfy offers much more: it extends the life and quality of food stored in the fridge by acting on ethylene, mold, and bacteria. Additionally, Shelfy features a smart component that monitors your fridge to help you maximize its performance.

To ensure maximum effectiveness, we recommend washing Shelfy's filter once a month. It's best to do it while Shelfy is charging, in this way it's easier to remember!

Just follow these simple steps:

1. Remove the front shell (the white one with the battery) from the back shell (the gray one with the filter). While washing, keep the photocatalytic filter in its slot, handle the shells with clean hands and try to avoid touching the filter.
2. Rinse the shell with the filter under running water for about 10 seconds, making sure to thoroughly wet the entire surface of the filter, but be careful not to pull it out of its slot.
3. Dry the shell with a clean cloth, taking care not to touch the filter with the cloth.
4. Remove any excess water inside the filter by gently shaking the shell while keeping the filter facing upward, being careful not to pull it out of its slot.
5. Place the shell on a clean cloth, with the filter facing upward. It’s best to let the filter dry in sunlight to optimize drying.
6. Drain any excess water and close the two shells again.

When washing the filter, we recommend wiping the front shell with a slightly dampened clean cloth, ensuring that Shelfy is not charging at that time.
