My WiFi network is not visible
If you can't see your WiFi network, try the following:
- Move Shelfy closer to the router by removing it from the fridge.
- Refresh the WiFi network list by pulling down the list of networks.
- Restart Shelfy and try again.
Also, check the following:
- Your WiFi network should be on 2.4 GHz (Shelfy does not support the 5 GHz band). You can try changing your router’s frequency or, if your router is dual-band, create a new WiFi network on 2.4 GHz. Shelfy only works on the 2.4 GHz frequency.
- Your WiFi network should be on channel 11 or lower.
- No WiFi repeaters: Shelfy may not work with some WiFi repeaters.
I can't connect to WiFi
If you encounter an error while trying to connect:
- Check your credentials and make sure the network details are correct.
- Check signal stability: Move Shelfy closer to the router.
- Restart Shelfy if the issue persists.
Also, verify the following:
- Your WiFi password must be at least 8 characters long and a maximum of 32 characters.
- Your WiFi password should not contain special characters. Here’s a list of accepted characters: ! # $ & ' ( ) * + , - . / : ; < = > ? @ [ \ ] ^ _ ` { | } ~ "
- Your device must be running iOS 14.0 or Android 6.0 or later.
- The network should be on channel 11 or lower.
- You are not using a WiFi repeater.
Registration error in the App
If you get a registration error after connecting Shelfy:
- The WiFi signal might be weak: Try moving closer to the router.
- Your WiFi network might not have internet access: Verify with other devices.
- Try connecting to your mobile hotspot. If it works, manually switch back to your home network in the app’s settings.
