Wifi connection issues

My WiFi network is not visible

If you can't see your WiFi network, try the following:

  1. Move Shelfy closer to the router by removing it from the fridge.
  2. Refresh the WiFi network list by pulling down the list of networks.
  3. Restart Shelfy and try again.

Also, check the following:

  • Your WiFi network should be on 2.4 GHz (Shelfy does not support the 5 GHz band). You can try changing your router’s frequency or, if your router is dual-band, create a new WiFi network on 2.4 GHz. Shelfy only works on the 2.4 GHz frequency.
  • Your WiFi network should be on channel 11 or lower.
  • No WiFi repeaters: Shelfy may not work with some WiFi repeaters.

I can't connect to WiFi

If you encounter an error while trying to connect:

  1. Check your credentials and make sure the network details are correct.
  2. Check signal stability: Move Shelfy closer to the router.
  3. Restart Shelfy if the issue persists.

Also, verify the following:

  • Your WiFi password must be at least 8 characters long and a maximum of 32 characters.
  • Your WiFi password should not contain special characters. Here’s a list of accepted characters: ! # $ & ' ( ) * + , - . / : ; < = > ? @ [ \ ] ^ _ ` { | } ~ "
  • Your device must be running iOS 14.0 or Android 6.0 or later.
  • The network should be on channel 11 or lower.
  • You are not using a WiFi repeater.

Registration error in the App

If you get a registration error after connecting Shelfy:

  1. The WiFi signal might be weak: Try moving closer to the router.
  2. Your WiFi network might not have internet access: Verify with other devices.
  3. Try connecting to your mobile hotspot. If it works, manually switch back to your home network in the app’s settings.
