Can I use Shelfy without an app?

Of course! You are not required to connect Shelfy to the app to enjoy its benefits.
You can turn it on, turn it off, and change its mode directly using the physical button (you can find more details in the User Guide).

Even though Shelfy can work without the app, not connecting it means you won’t have access to advanced features such as:

  • Monitoring of door openings and refrigerator temperature.
  • Reminders for filter and refrigerator cleaning.
  • Connection to voice assistants (Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant).
  • Firmware updates to improve performance and fix possible bugs.

How do I turn Shelfy on, off, and change its mode?

  • Turning on: Press the button once until the white LED starts flashing.
  • Turning off: Hold the button for 3 seconds until the LED turns off.
  • Changing mode: Quickly press the button to cycle through the three available modes in the following order:
  1. Eco Mode
  2. Crisper Mode
  3. Performance Mode

Once you select your preferred mode, Shelfy will continue operating in that setting until you turn it off or switch modes. For more details, check our dedicated FAQ.

How can I tell which mode Shelfy is in?
If you use Shelfy without the app, you can identify the mode by observing the frequency of the white LED flashing.

However, without the app, you won’t have a direct indication of the active mode other than through this observation.

Why does Shelfy sometimes seem to be off?
Shelfy operates in purification cycles, so it is not always running. It alternates between active and inactive periods to optimize energy consumption and ensure effective air purification inside the refrigerator. If you open the fridge and see it inactive, that doesn’t mean it’s not working—it will automatically resume in the next purification cycle.
