6 tips on how to find out if your plant is healthy

β†’

You can understand what's wrong with your plant with a simple look. Check the tips and see if your plant is healthy!

There are two types of plant lovers: those who have a green thumb and those who anxiously look at their plant asking themselves a thousand questions like ”am I watering it too much?”, β€œis this the right fertilizer?”, β€œdo I need to trim it?”. Your plant can’t speak, but it can communicate whether it’s happy or not. If you want to avoid the most common mistakes with plants, keep reading!

1. Color

A happy plant typically has shiny dark green leaves, its flowers are bright and its roots are pale. If you are watering it too much, its extremities will tend to turn yellow and the rhizome will turn brown or black. The uniformity of the color is important: for example, the leaves will develop dots if they become diseased or are attacked by parasites.

2. Growth and shape

A happy plant changes shape as it keeps growing with compact stems and beautiful sprouts. If your plant is too static, it may benefit from more sunlight exposure or a nutrient boost.

3. Routine

Do you regularly water, repot and trim your plant? Plants love routine, so try to develop a habit. Your plant will be grateful!

Please note: too much or too soon may stress your plant. Nevertheless, not doing it enough can be harmful too. Try to keep a routine; your plant will be the happiest on the planet!

4. Music

Several studies have found that plants that are exposed to music have higher and quicker growth rates. There is a correlation between plant growth and music. In fact, they react to the environment surrounding them, so turn on some calm and happy music when you take care of your green friend!

5. Plants need friends too

Guess what? Even plants need company! Some of them grow better when they are next to other plants. And some plants work better than others: Spathiphyllum gets along with Ficus, and Dracaena likes Hibiscus. But if you already have company at home with animals, discover plants that are not toxic to pets. Do you have any plants that get on well with specific others? Let us know!
